I have just bought a Sansa Clip+ 8GB. I have not yet upgraded the firmware, but I do find an odd volume situation, with which I hope someone can help. The volume for music actually heard in the ear phones can be smoothly dropped from 100% to zero & closely follows the visual position of the volume bar, but for FM radio the volume drops from 100% to about 50% and then remains at 50% in the ear phones even when the volume bar decreases smoothly to zero. When the volume bar actually hits zero the sound does go off in the ear phones. I have tried reducing the volume to near zero in music mode & then switching to FM. The volume bar stays near zero but the volume in the earphones jumps to 50%. I can tell this because as the bar visually gets longer, the volume in the earphones remains constant until the bar reaches 50% & then the sound increases as normal.
Can anyone suggest a remedy for this FM volume quirk?
Thanks
It’s a well-documented and known issue. SanDisk is working on it and it will hopefully be remedied in an upcoming firmware update.

It was already fixed…in the last firmware update. The OP simply needs to update their Clip+ to the 01.02.13 firmware.

Oops!
Guess I’ve been too busy listening to music to bother with updating my firmware, huh?
My bad!

When the fix was announced, that was the first time I used the FM tuner…had to try it before I upgraded, so I could see if it was indeed fixed. Can’t say as I’ve used the FM since though.
Thanks for the responses! Yes, I found your posts on it Tapeworm in the firmware string just after I posted my question, namely that it was a bug. I see now from this string that it has indeed been resolved. I’ll update my firmware right away. Appreciate the information from all.
Nice fix. I am a satisfied customer. But…Sansa might look at tweaking the sound quality to be crisper??? Like the Sansa Clip (Silver). Yes! I believe the 4G Clip (silver) has an awesome sound playback…just like you’re right there on stage. I have 5 sansa mp3’s and they do vary in playback qualities.

You’re lucky . . . the other colors don’t sound nearly as good.
