fluctating volume on SanDisk bluetooth

Bought the Sport Plus a month ago and enclosed wired earbuds worked fine as did a pair of wired speakers.

Just bought a Oontz Angle bluetooth speaker and the sound quality is bad. Did the firmware update, reset the factory settings and reconnected unit and speaker countless times.

Finally used the new Oontz speaker thru bluetooth with my 3 year old Windows 10 laptop. Wonderful sound. Then did the same with my Apple mini-Ipad and once again great sound.

The only conclusion I can reach is that the bluetooth in the SanDisk is working but sporadically drops for a split second every few seconds.

Has anyone else experienced this or better yet fixed it?
