Firmware Updates? How do I know when to update?

I have a new 4GB+ clip and am wondering if it will update automatically when I plug the device in to charge it?

That’s the idea with the Sansa Updater.  However, it doesn’t work for some people, and leaving it on your system consumes system resources and can help clog a computer up.  Just as easy and better, in my opinion, to check here every now and again and see if there’s been an update–SanDisk has tended to have new firmware at 3-month points.

That's the idea with the Sansa Updater (which you would need to download and install on your computer).  However, it doesn't work for some people, and leaving it on your system, in an always on state, consumes system resources (even if small) and can help clog a computer up. 

 

Just as easy and better, in my opinion, to check here every now and again and see if there's been an update, which would be announced and posted in a firmware upgrade sticky thread at the top of the Clip+ forum--SanDisk has tended to have new firmware at 3-month points.
