Hello! I’ve read that RockBox use battery much economical than sandisk firmware, is it actual for now? Or maybe it was already fixed? Are there many pluses to use RockBox (I don’t really like inteface)… I think to return to sandisk firmware, so, any advices? Thanks!

Yes, I tried skins, but honestly I’m not impressed any of them… So, my question - are there real difference between SanDisk firmware and RockBox in battery usage, sound quality etc. Not interesting in skins, games, and apps 
The Sound is not better general.
The EQ is better. With Rockbox can chance the 5 EQ frequency. And Parmetric EQ Settings.

Battery life is a lot better.

Do be sure to check out the various alternate themes (skins). In my opinion, many are very nice, as nice as the original firmware. Kudos to their creators.
OK, I just received my zip today, and on the rockbox website, zip is not supported.

PS: as for me, I re-install RockBox week ago, and did some settings and now I’m fully satisfied with it Choosed Clip+ theme (I don’t remember exactly how it called) and set Russian language ))

Yes, because it’s still under development… but you shouldn’t be afraid – it’s pretty much stable

I didn’t waste my time with 01.01.20…I’ve had Rockbox running for months.

It’s asking for the original firmware file which you can find here. Extract the .zip file and place the .bin file on your desktop (or other place you’ll remember where it is). Then tell Rockbox where is is (when it asks) so it can patch it with the bootloader during the installation.
In the event it won’t take the latest firmware version (which the RB developers may not have gotten to yet), use the previous 01.01.18 version here.
just installed rockbox, but it can not display Japanese, comes in boxes.
Switch to a font like unifont that has Japanese characters. You can download fronts from the rockbox web page under the “extras” link.
