The Problem:
There is no way to control the scope of the music without changing the current song that is playing.
Solution #1:
If “Play All” is selected from any music menu, the scope should change but the currently playing song should finish. This would allow me to select a specific song I want to hear but then immediately change the scope of the music. Maybe there could be a “Play All” as well as a “Play All Now” selection.
Solution #2:
Alternatively, if “Play All” is selected from any music menu that includes the currently playing song, the scope should change but the currently playing song should finish.
Solution #3:
Selecting a specific song rather than “Play All” will not change the scope of the music. Once that song is done, the player will return to the previously selected scope.
An Example:
Let’s say I want to hear the song “King’s Highway” by “Kenny Wayne Sheppard” from the album “Trouble Is” in the genre “Blues.” I know the genre, artist, and album so it is most convenient for me to select the song by choosing “Music > Genre > Blues > Kenny Wayne Sheppard > Trouble Is > King’s Highway.” But I don’t want to only listen to this album. I also want to listen to other blues music. So, intuitively, I should be able to select “Music > Genre > Blues > Play All” and not have the current song change, especially since the current song is in the newly selected scope.
PS: I’m really waiting for the firmware upgrade that will stop my Clip from being on 100% of the time it is plugged in to my computer.
