Ok,Hi all,i have this ex hard drive that i bought many years ago…i think more than 5 years or when the new 1TB craze just released…used it once to store my stuff…then now whenever i hooked it up on my lappy,my lappy hangs…tried updating drivers from WD site but still same…i can see its there but when i right click or attempted disk management it hangs…when i unplugged it my laptop went back to normal.Scanned using anti virus also nothing wrong…so what did i missed?? There’s valuable stuff in there and this is the 2nd time using it.Anyone pls help…thx in advanced

Is there any sign of physical damage on the unit?
Have you tried using the drive on a different computer? or different set of cables?
Also make sure that the power adapter are is connected to the wall outlet.
Is it hanging or did you not wait long enough to see if an error message appeared? Plug it in and leave it for 10 minutes.
