Ext Drive Utilities doesn't see Ext Drives (either of 2) / PC opens window

I have 2 ext drives (4T) and neither one is recognized by the utilities and they aren’t backing up.
The PC recognizes them.

I’d love some help. thanks.

There are some WD external hard drives which are not supported by WD Drive Utilities and Backup tools. Please update,

  1. Which drives are you using?
  2. And do you able to store data files in these drives?

I have 2 passports that are supported by the utilities. Utilities was working when I first got it. Back up was working as scheduled and then it stopped.

I suppose I could manually upload data files to be stored on the drive, but I can not do any automatic updates.

I read somewhere that my malware/virus protection might be the cause of the problem so I set them as exclusions. I still haven’t been able to get the backup to open.
