Express plays no problem, but computer now refuses to acknowledge its existence

I’ve had my Express for about 5 months, with no troubles or any problems at all. I wanted to add some more music, but my Express shuts off when I plug it in, and my computer refuses to acknowledge its existence. Repeated “hard reset” (volume+ and select) hasn’t helped. I can still listen to music, but that’s it! What can I do? Any ideas?

Try reflashing the firmware following the instructions in the attached thread.

I have the same problem - and the “-” button won’t help when i try to plug it into the USB.  Would appreciate any other suggestions anyone has.

I have had to go into device manager on Windows and remove the driver for the Sansa Express, which was hanging.

The driver was reinstalled on the next plugin and I was good to go.
