My My BOOK Essential 250GB drive was used to archive files over a few years. Now, I’m attempting to retrieve files for use in Windows 10. However, Windows 10 Explorer reports my MY BOOK drive is empty even though Properties reports that 15% of the drive is used. Does anyone know why I am not finding any files in Windows Explorer? What do I need to do to correct this and to access my files?
Files you cannot see are likely hidden files. Google to find out how to make hidden files visible. Anyway, they are usually hidden so users can not tamper with them The backup files are likely not readable; they are encoded.
Unfortunately, these are personal files and should not be 33GB of hidden system files.
