Elements stops BU at 57% i/o problem

I have lost two hard drives in the last 6 months so i thought i would solve the problem by installing 2 seprate BU hard drives.The first is a 3tb My Book using its software the second is a 3TB Elements using windows 7 BU program. My book works great but Elements stops at 57% with a i/o problem (no code). Am i causing the problem using 2 BU on one os system? I built my own computer (put the pieces together) but im still a novice. Thanks for any help

Hello,

The I/O error means Input/ Output error. You could be dealing with a cable or faulty USB port. I’ll suggest to connect your drive into a different computer and if possible replace the USB cable just to determine the root of the problem.
