Dropbox sync queries – does it work?

Hi

I wanted to ask the users here (before I pay out hard earned cash) if the sync between My Cloud (as an NAS) works well with Dropbox via the SmartWare sync software? I want to centralise all my files (pics, vids, docs) to the NAS and then in turn back that up to my Dropbox.

Will that work – i.e. does it sync ALL files or only certain types?
Does it sync in the background automatically? Does my Mac need to be on for the sync to work (should there be a large overnight upload)
Any issues any current users can foresee in me doing this?

Getting hold of Support by email is pretty slow, hence why I’m asking here!

WD SmartWare Pro is not supported on Mac OS systems. You would not be able to use the application for Dropbox sync features. The application runs continuously as long as the system is on and your session is active. However, files liked to your Dropbox account will come from your system. Not your NAS.
