I just got the fuze+ and it says I need to install rhapsody using the enclosed disc. My wife has a fuze and already has rhapsody installed on our computer. Do I need to install it again ? If I do will it do will it wipe out all of her music that’s on there already?
I don’t think you need to reinstall the program. As far as I know, you just need to register your device within the program. It will then allow you to transfer material over. Don’t quote me on this, I am not 100% sure. Anyone to confirm?
I don’t know, but when I got my Fuze+ it came with the same disc of course, and there were alreasy two other Sansas using Rhapsody. I think what it probably is (Again, I’m not entirely sure since it’s been awhile since I got my Fuze) is that you currently have an older version of Rhapsody, and the disc wants you to load the latest version of Rhapsody. So, if you do install Rhapsody again, it should not hurt the other Fuze.
Rhapsody has gone through some cool improvements as of late, following their spin-off from Real Networks. Among the improvements the Rhapsody 4 client (the software on the PC) has been integrated with its own “browser”.
Depending upon the version of the service you have chosen (there’s a basic version for one device, and a version for three), all you need do is plug in your Fuze+ and authorize it. I would recommend simply keeping your Rhapsody client updated by clicking on Help > Check For Updates, and the rest is quite automatic.
For those of us who have used Rhapsody for several years, the latest version is so much better. The Fuze+ updates much faster than my other Sansas, especially the Rhapsody Channels feature that I love for finding new music.

Actually, the Rhapsody 4 PC client has not changed at all since the spin-off. Okay, there have been two changes. They changed the logo. And it is no longer possible to sort by date added. As far as the users can tell, development of the Rhapsody 4 client has ceased since the spin-off.
There are tinkerings happening on the server side to be sure. There are multiple client versions out there, based upon the previous version you have on your PC.
The Artist Information function is currently inoperative, displaying a wee dot on the screen rather than the information file. Testing this with other Sansa devices, I see that the file index is full of nothing but - you guessed it- single dots. And I thought the Fuze+ firmware had a bug, silly me.
