My new fuze just shows disconnected on the screen it wont turn on or off it just shows disconnected.what do I do??
Hold up the slider button for 15-20 seconds–even after it turns off, so it not only turns off but resets.

I’ve tried holding the slider button nothing happens.
Hold it longer . . . eventually it will turn off and reset. It may take 30-40 secs.
If you still get no response, consider it defective and return to where you bought it from and get another.
Tapeworm, out of curiosity, could the error described by the OP result from the battery being dead?

No. If the battery were dead you would have a screen that says something like “Battery Low Shutting Down”. This is something that will display regardless of what’s going on otherwise. The big reason why it wouldn’t happen is because the OP stated it was plugged in to the computer before this happened which means that the player received a charge (It may not have been big but its something.
@ the OP what I would try if Tape’s suggestion yields no results is to plug it back in count to 20, then disconnect but make sure you eject it from the computer first.
