When I turn on my Windows 8.1 computer backup begins automatically even though I had pressed the stop backup button before closing. Is there a way to disable or stop backup from occuring at startup permanently?

You should be able to prevent the software to load up through the System configuration.
I do understand that I can do that but I wanted to keep the feature that Smart Ware has that lets me shut down the hard drive after a specified amount of time.I have removed Smart Ware from startup but then the shutdown feature doesn’t kick in.
Maybe there is no way to have it both ways.
