I have a backup on my drive from a couple of weeks ago. I recently lost an internal hard drive and had to install a new one. Now that the new one is installed, I would like to restore my data. I can see the data on the hard drive, but it isn’t showing up as a selectable option for restoration. Any help?
Hi,
I’m assuming you are using WD Backup. When you open it it should show your drive name. You then click the “Select Files to Restore…”. The next screen shows the files, but it does take awhile for them to show up.
If that is not the problem, please be more specific. Thanks.

Using the WD app, I did click on “Select Files to Restore…”. However, the date from my last backup isn’t showing up as a selection.
The WD app made me schedule a backup before it would let me select from any files to restore from. So, I ran a backup of the new empty internal drive yesterday. When selecting the files to restore, it does give me yesterday’s date, but it does not give me any other options.
Using windows explorer, I can browse my way to the WD drive and see that all of my backup files are there, but they are encrypted with the WD software. So, I can’t just copy and paste them from there to my new internal drive. I really need to be able to select them from the WD app. Not sure where to go from here.
I have the same problem. Did you find any solution??
I ended up finding the non-encrypted files buried in another folder on the drive and just copied/pasted those.
I’m pretty frustrated with the software not properly recognizing the files how it is supposed to though.
