My 2.0 drives will not play in my Belkin 2.0 hub. Only play when plugged into a slot on my iMac.
It sounds like you have something else plugged into your hub that doesn’t play well with others.
By the way, when you say it doesn’t work, does it give you any error message at all? That would give us a clue on where to start looking.
