I’m curious…why does my windows vista keep crashing during back ups?
Hello tundraben,
Have you tried using the drive on a different computer/Operating system?
Are you using any software to back or manually?
Do you get any error message when backup stops?

September 24Hello tundraben,

Yes, when I move my files over to my new computer, that’s why I bought this product

I have manually transferred my files to my new computer but when I try to update them with automatic update as I said, it takes a very long time and then stops at 2 percent. Why does it take do long and suddenly stop? Then I have to restart my old computer several times
Do you get any error message when backup stops?
No error messages, see above, it just stops and now I have to reboot my old computer several times.
You know, I would like to tell you something…years ago when I took this leap from windows 98 (tower) to vista (laptop), I got this cable that transferred all my files, pictures and programs. It took a couple of hours but it took. it actually worked great. so I thought I would try this method after trying yours but apparently that would be to easy as it doesn’t work anymore. Why do these things have to get so god ■■■■ complicated? i downloaded the driver for it, it doesn’t work. Hell, I even downloaded the driver for my printer and it won’t work…WTF? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. your product doesn’t support “some” drivers and programs, so why can’t it? have we advanced to the age where a single cable cant transfer ■■■■ anymore?
WELL IT ■■■■■■■ USED TO…
