Out of nowhere, I couldn’t get Vista Media Player to “see” my M230 when I plugged in via USB and selected “Sync”… When I attempted to access via Device Manager in Control Panel - MS knew there WAS a device there - but gave error message “registry associated with Sansa MP3 player missing/corrupted - unable to access device” (more or less). Solution: - downloaded the Firmware updater - and “Yes” you must use MSC mode or it will not work. BTW - the MS “HotFix” mentioned elsewhere did not work - but was a good thought…
