I run a Linux-based OS and SMC fails to work with Wine. I’d like to give ffmpeg a try, but I need information on the AVI container used by Fuze first.

currently yes. there have been talk in other threads that they may remove this restriction but no dates have been provided.
This person has discovered a way to do it sucessfully without SMC. Of course, the alternative program is not free, but he claims it works.
