I would like to use the Continuous Backup feature of WD SmartWare to constantly backup files to my new WD MyCloud. Please can someone help me by letting me know which of the following is correct:
A) It will only backup files continuously when the software has been opened from the start menu
B) I don’t need to open the software. It will backup my files anyway.
Appologies if there is an obvious answer to this question but if there is it hasn’t been obvious where I find it.
You just have to install WD Smartware and run the initial setup and create the first backup. From then on the WD Smartware will backup your files automatically.
Can I add an follow on question? Okay, I assume yes!
So I can sleep better, how do I confirm that the backup is working correctly? For instance, can I verify that a file I updated yesterday is showing up on the backup? Or can I verify that my backup ‘documents’ and my ‘documents’ on my HD are the same?
