Hi,

Please explain how to do continuous backup.

I did a full backup with the option of continuous backup.

But yet when I change a file like word or excel it does not change it in the backup on my passport ultra.

How soon will it change the backed up file on the ultra ?

Is it immediate or does it take a while ?

Using WD Smartware Pro 2.4.11. and Windows 7.

Must the WD Smartware software be open all the time ?

Do I have to plug in the passport ultra before I start the computer in the morning or can I plug it in anytime after pc is on ?

Please advise.

Hi,

Normally, WD Smartware will update backup once you are away from your computer to avoid using the resources of your computer while you are using it. 

Yes, it’s recommended to leave the software open so the backup will get updated automatically.
