My book tb2 is lit up, spinning and appears to be working. However when I plug it into my computer it doesn’t read the drive. It shows that it is connect through USB, but when I go to my computer to find the drive it isn’t there.
How do I get access to my external hard drive?
On Win 7 or later you may have to go to Computer Management and enable it (put it ‘online’)… Look under Administrative Tools for Computer Management then click Disk Management.
Or type Computer Management under Start/Search and click on it when it appears in the popup window.
If you have Win10 or Win8 get yourself an app to put the Start button and menu back.
Under Disk Management, highlight the drive, right click, and hit ‘Online’. Reverse that when you want to disconnect it.
