ClipZip Screen out. What's the play all songs key sequence?

Hello…  the screen on my clipzip went totally black. It still plays, and if I don’t mess with it I don’t have to worry to much. but I can’t use the menu, so I was wondering…
1)when you disconnect the player from your computer, after the “refreshing your media”, what is the button sequence to go to “Songs” “Play All”?
I don’t want random  or anything, just the play all songs.
Thanks!

Ps: has anyone ever noticed the “random” on these sandisks aren’t so random?

The Zip model is less than 1 year old. Why don’t you just call SanDisk and have them replace it under warranty? :confounded:

And yep, people sometimes have noted the less than 100% random play of the players’ random play.   :frowning:

…oh you know, wasn’t thinking. I thought I wouldn’t need to worry about it, so I didn’t  mail in warrenty card…didn’t save reciept. I already tried customer service, and I need that info, so I figured I’d just find out the key sequence and live with it.:flushed:

You might try (I would!) customer service again: as the Clip Zip has been out for less than a year, it automatically still is within the warranty period and should be covered. At least, that’s what I would tell the rep., and expect coverage . . . .

And a paper receipt isn’t that much needed these days; there’s usually some way to verify you bought it, where & when without it.

Did you buy it on-line or in a brick & mortar store? Did you use a credit card? Do you know approx. what month it was bought it? On-line sources like Amazon keep records of your purchases; you can usually look it up in My Account.

If it was from a store and you used a credit card, they also should be able to look up the record of the sale. They may not want to do it, but if you tell them a specific month (in order to narrow it down for them) they should be able to.

For that matter, if you used a credit card you can go back in your statements (either paper or on-line) and look for the charge to the dealer you bought it from.

Think about it, I’ll bet you can figure it out somehow . . . after all, there’s more than one way to skin a cat!

But again, a receipt shouldn’t be needed, as the Clip Zip is well under a year old.

I would imagine certain “qualifying” questions must be asked by the service reps (and answered by the customer) to order to determine whether the player in question was bought as “new” or “re-furbed”. While the Zip model is under a year old and theoretically still under warranty, it is just old enough to have re-furbs in the marketplace too.

And SanDisk does not warrant re-furbs as they cannot warrant what they cannot control (what someone else did in order to re-sell it).

Yes, a refurb situation could be an issue; ajthough I seem to recall someone saying that refurbs are marked as such somehow (I don’t know personally).  But I would press the issue with customer service regardless, personally.

But the customer service reps can’t see the unit in question over the phone . . . unless of course you’re on a video-chat via Skype with them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep, but they could deny a replacement when actually inspecting the unit.  Not unlike what Amazon does when processing a return.

I’m going to go ahead and try to find that info. But until then, can anyone tell me the key sequence? center button, then down twice and to the right?
