Clip won't stay in one transfer mode

I want my clip to stay in MSC mode so I can see every file that transferred even if it is used on different computers. But when I switch it to MSC mode then turn it off, it goes back to Auto Detect. How can I make it stay in MSC mode?

Select MSC Mode via Settings> USB Mode > MSC, then click the center button to confirm your selection.

That’s what I do but it doesn’t stay in that mode.

that’s strange…how are you exiting that screen?

I’m selecting the option with the center button then pressing menu twice to get back to the song display.

That’s strange. That’s the way I would do it too, yet mine has never switched modes like yours.

Perhaps the settings file is corrupted. Try reformatting the unit and updating the firmware.
