I have a 4gb Silver Sansa Clip version 1.01.32.
I’ve had it for a few months without any problems, but the other day I work while I was using it, it froze in mid-song. I have no been able to use it since. Whenever I try to turn it on, it just get’s stuck on the welcome screen. When I plug it into my computer, most of the time it says “the USB device has malfunctioned, and windows doesn’t recognize it.” The recommended fix… replacing it. About 1 out of every 10 times I connect it, it actually works and load the music files, but all of them are messed up and instead of playing the file it just plays high pitched noises.
I’m updated the firmware, and even formatted the device thinking that maybe a bad song file had found it’s way in. Still nothing. Any advice?
