Clip 1GB no longer recognized by Windows

Device is a 1GB Clip, OS is Windows 7 SP 1.

I’ve tried multiple USB cables to no avail. The Clip will charge off USB, but Windows doesn’t see it. Tried in OS X with the same result.

I did a “Reset All” and have ensured the device is in MSC mode. There are no unknown devices in Device Manager in Windows, either. It’s like the data portion of the USB port simply doesn’t work.

Is this a known issue? Any thoughts on a solution?

Try holding down the power button for 20 seconds and then try again. Hope this works. Have you made any changes here lately?
