Choosing best WD external hard drive product

Hi - I’m new to this. Hoping someone can help.

I’m interested in being able to maintain a simple mirror back up of my hard drive. What I mean by this is:

  1. I create an initial copy of my complete hard drive (including docs, photos, videos etc). I have about 400 GB of data.

  2. I then regularly update this copy by clicking save, which means that all (a) new files are copied, (b) deleted files are deleted, and (c) changed files are updated. Everything else stays the same. It only takes a few moments to update since only changes are added.

  3. At any any stage I can open my WD hard drive to find the latest version of my hard drive there, exactly at it is on my source hard drive.

So that’s all I want. What is the best WD product to do this?

What you need is a synchronization software. WD has a software called WD Sync but it is only for My Cloud Drives.

Wow - so it is not possible to get such a simple back up to a WD ext hard drive as such (not cloud storage)?

Have you ever heard of robocopy (a Windows program)? It is probably what you are looking for, so Google it.
