Charging Sansa Clip+ with my Samsung Travel Charger 4.4V 400mA

Can I use the Samsung SAC-48 (from my DigiCam) to charge my Sansa Clip+ and listen to the music while it is charged.

The technical data are:

Input: 100-240V ~ 50-60HZ 0.2A

Output: 4.4V 400mA

Is it sufficient enough?

Thanks and regards.

The amperage should be enough.  But I don’t know about the voltage, as the Clip is set for 5V.

Thanks for your answer.

What happens when the voltage is too low?

Is there any risk (charger or/and player can be damaged) if I try it?

Regards

Well, if the voltage is too high, it can fry the Clip. Don’t know about it where the voltage is too low. Personally, I wouldn’t risk it, especially where AC chargers are so inexpensive. Check out meritline.com where they can be found, not infrequently on sale, for well south of $5 shipped.

Thanks for helping me!

I am from Germany so I will buy something like this:

That looks wunderbar.

That’s the sort of thing I was thinking, and it’s at a nice price.  You may want to take a look at meritline.com sometime–the company ships internationally (out of various Asia warehouses, typically in Hong Kong and Singapore), and the prices often are very nice and include shipping (which, admittedly, may take 2-3 weeks, generally, at least to the U.S.).
