Changing language on WD Smartware homepage

Have bought and installed WD My Book Essential 1TB.

The WD SmartWare has downloaded/installed in the French Language.

I would like the WD Smartware installed in the English language.

Anyone know how to change over from the French version to the English?

Doesn’t Smartware install based on the language of the operating system?  I think you would need to change the os from french to english.  Then you should be able to reinstall smartware in english.

Thanks for you reply AnthonyB. I’ll look into that. Not sure if I can change the language using Windows XP Professional but will give it a try. Cheers!

Thanks for contacting our Western Digital Support Service.

Once installed, you cannot change the Smartware language. What you have to do is to uninstall the software and re-install it using the VCD that contains the language package: http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/updates/?family=wdsmartwareutilities
