I am new to the WD Forum and can’t find the topic I need help with. I had to do a complete backup and recovery of my PC running Windows 10 Home Edition. I forgot to actually set up a backup plan on My Passport and just hooked it up and hit Backup now which it did. Unfortunately there isn’t a date to click on to restore my data. I do have some of it on my laptop so I set up a back up plan for that and did a backup. But the laptop backup doesn’t show up on my PC and the PC back up doesn’t show up to restore. I can see the data in the file history but when I try to restore it to my PC it says I am not authorized. I am so frustrated as I think there has to be someway to restore the data from the file history. Is there someone out there that can give me some help please?

Thank you for your reply but you have completely misunderstood the problem. There is nothing on my windows 10 to back up or restore. It is all on the WD My Passport External Hard Drive. I backed it up on that and completely reset my PC back to factory settings. I am trying to restore from the File history on the My Passport hard drive so these links are of no use to me. How do I get it off the external hard drive with out a date to use to restore the files. I neglected to set up a back up plan and just hit back up now.
