Cant get permission to access drive and more

I JUST got my WD Elements 1TB external hard drive earlier today. I got it because I need to clone my internal hard drive onto it. Well here’s what happened…

I’m using Macrium Reflect to do it. Started the cloning process, but right away got an error that I don’t have permission to access the new drive. So I have no choice but to cancel the cloning. If I try to click on the drive, it says “You don’t currently have permission to access this folder. Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder.” So I click continue. “You have been denied permission to access this folder. To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab.” ‘Security tab’ is clickable so I click it. It opens up the Properties window… and there is no security tab. I looked all through the properties and it doesn’t mention anything about security. I’m the system administrator of course, not that it seems to be doing me any favors.

There’s another issue that worries me even more. When I first plugged in the drive, it appeared under devices and drives under the name Elements (E:), with almost 1TB of storage, as it should have. Now for some reason (I’m guessing this happened after the failed cloning attempt) it’s called SYSTEM (E:), and claims to only have 300MB worth of storage, which needless to say is just making me even more concerned. Another drive has also appeared (which disappears or reappears along with the other as the external drive is disconnected or reconnected) simply titled Windows (F:), is labeled with NTFS, and clicking on it simply yields the message “F:\ is not accessible. Access is denied.” I can only assume that these two problems are related since they appeared at the same time, but again, that’s an assumption.

I just rebooted my laptop, during which it decided it should try repairing the drive. I let it, and it went on for 2+ hours, and when it was finally done, nothing had changed. I don’t know what to do. ANY help is extremely appreciated.
