Here’s the issue - I have a 4GB Cruzer micro flash drive that has a single Track00.cda (CD audio track shortcut) on it. When I plug the flash drive into the computer, it shows up as a CD drive because the OS thinks it’s dealing with an audio CD. If I right click the file there is no option to delete it (I also cannot drag the file to the trashcan). I also cannot seem to format the flash drive. Does anyone know how to remedy this or am I hosed?
“When I plug the flash drive into the computer, it shows up as a CD drive”
Have you ever deleted a file from a CD before? Have you ever formated a CD before? You may think the device is a USB flash drive but so long as your computer thinks it’s a CD drive I think you will be limited to what your system can do to a CD drive.
You should ask the person who put the audio track on it how he/she/they did it. Maybe they know how to remove it.
If you did it you should look at the app you used that did it and see if it has a way to undo it.
BTW When you plug the flash drive in how many drive letters show up in Windows?
