Cannot record Smart TV programs with my partitioned hard drive

Hello,

I tried to set up My Passport for Mac to record TV programs in my Samsung LG Smart TV Series 5500. I made 2 partitions to the passport: 1 for Mac OS Extended Journaled, another for ExFAT. The TV can read the ExFAT partition, but still cannot. When I pressed the record button, it says “Unavailable” on the TV.

So how do I set up the passport to record TV programs?

Hello,

The Passport drive has not been designed to accomplish this action. I recommend you contact your TV manufacturer for support with this issue.

I have never tried this since it is not supported. But lets see if other user can comment on this.
