Can the Sansa Express be used as a disk-on-key?

Hi,

I would like to buy this little cool looking device. I would also like to use it as a simple disk-on-key to store files other than music (i.e. doc , zip, avi, txt etc.).

Can it be done? If yes, i will need to use the MSC mode?

Yes.  Install WMP 11 and SE 1.01.12.

You should be able to drag non-music files to your Express. I tried PDF, Word, exe extension files and a few other file formats. All transferred without problems.

 

You can manually set your player to MSC mode if MTP mode doesn’t allow you to transfer files.
