Can I store my G Speed Shuttle in a small cupboard

Just set up my new G Speed Shuttle 16TB. It came with a ridiculously short cable so it is currently right next to my computer. But it is very noisy! I need this chugging, beeping thing to be further away and make less noise. Can I store it in a small sealed cupboard? Or will this pose heat issues?

Also, when the computer sleeps it makes intermittent, very loud, beeping noises? What is that?? And how do I stop it?

It is because the device requires an active data connection to be on. When your computer goes to sleep it disconnects the device.

When using this device you should be disabling sleep on your computer.

You can place it in another location and get a longer cable. We have had customers do this in the past.
