Can I cut & paste network data files manually to my WD Passport Essential. I know that I can’t have the software back them up automatically, but will there be any functional repercussions to having files on the drive that came from a mapped network drive?
Nope, that shouldn’t cause any problems.
The only thing you may encounter is permission/sharing in Windows.
