Can files on MyBook AV Expander be accessed remotely?

Looking into buying a MyBook AV DVR expander but really need it to watch DVR material when I’m NOT at home.  Is there a way to do this?

I have a WD MyCloud, which I use remotely via the downloaded App.  Can it record/store items from a DVR?

Well I havn’t personally tried but in therory it should store the video.
