can a sandisk reader read a non sandisk memory card

hi all

i realize this is probably an ultra basic question, but here goes - i just bought a panasonic memory card, for my panasonic camera and it appears my san disk reader won’t read it.ie I insert it and nothing shows up on my computer, despite disconnecting and reconnecting the reader

wil a sandisk reader read only a sandisk memory card? if not, what other brands will it read

The brand of reader should not matter. What might matter however, is if the reader is only SD compliant (<2GB) and the card you’re putting in it is SDHC format (>2GB). Not all card readers will read the SDHC format.

Luckily card readers are cheap; here’s one for $.01 (+ $2.98 shipping). :smiley:
