Blue light flashing will it wipe everything off my hard drive?

I have a Western Digital External Hard drive.

My friend who I am staying with has his computer upstairs, we both use WIFI. He decided to put some sort of a different plug adapter thing downstairs where my computer is, so that it would improve his WIFI upstairs. This was a day or 2 ago.

Now suddenly today I went onto my computer to save something on there to my external hard drive and the D drive was not appearing on my computer at all. I looked and the external hard drive IS hooked up. I noticed also a blue light was flashing, which it had never done before. So I unplugged it all and plugged it back in and then it worked, but the blue light was still blinking.

I can’t help but to think it has something to do with my friend putting that different plug in. But I know the way that he is and he will not want to put it back the way that it was. Is this going to possibly wipe everything out on my hard drive? Or will it be ok just as long as it works? I looked on the solutions page and it doesnt say whether it is harmful to the external hard drive or not.

Hi, are you able to access the drive and see your files? If so, try checking if the Antivirus was running and maybe accessing the drive. You can also check for errors using the DLG (Data Life Guard tools)
