Backup older passport to new passport studio

Hi,

i wonder if it is possible to backup (sync) my files on my older passport studio to my new one, using wd smartware (or not)?

i have deleted the wd software on the older one…

Which is it - backup or sync?  Those are different functions.  If you had an older Passport, you were probably using WD Sync.  That was not backup program, but I can see how it gets confusing. 

Anyway, as I’ve been told, you can choose another external drive using a dropdown on the backup page to back up using SmartWare, especially the latest version.  However, we don’t provide support for doing it.  If you’re using a Mac, you won’t even get the drop down to choose anything else, but the internal drive.  So, you can give it a try and see if it works.  Or you can just copy and paste everything from the old Passport into the new Passport.
