Started using mybook to back up my laptop several years ago. It works great–I’ve recovered a few files that I needed for my taxes, etc.
Question: Is it possible to start backing up files from my new laptop to mybook without restoring (or accidentally wiping out) the files that are already on there from my old laptop?
I don’t necessarily want all of those files from mybook on the new LT, but I don’t want to lose them.
I loaded the WD software on the new LT but when I went to set up the backup I was concerned that existing files would be wiped out.

Yes, you can set up new backup data pan of new Laptop and this will not affect the previously stored data. This will create a different folder with the name of your new computer under Users to specify the backup folder.
