I don’t see any usb drivers on the dell website for my model xps 15 L521x
The power issue may be solved by updating drivers?

Checked the support side
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/xps-15-l521x/drivers
there is “Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver” listed:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=TMJYV&fileId=3126515098&osCode=W764&productCode=xps-15-l521x&languageCode=EN&categoryId=CS
I also see that there is a BIOS Update available for updating to BIOS Version A16 with improvements for disk speed performances:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=TMJYV&fileId=3126515098&osCode=W764&productCode=xps-15-l521x&languageCode=EN&categoryId=CS
But when I check the support site I put in my service tag and that shows me the same drivers as always. They haven’t updated them and there is no usb driver or new bios
BTW: We are talking about Windows 10 here, not Windows 7 as I expected to be the operating system in use.
Can you please confirm if the HDD policy is set to:
Right mouse click on HDD > Properties > Hardware > Select the device in the list > Properties > General > Change Settings > Policies > Select Better performance and Select Enable write caching on the device
If not, please do so and you may be required to restart.
Hope this helps. For extra support you can use Dell Precision M6400 Manual. Good Luck.
