Audible Download Format Question

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to download Audible files for the Clip in format 3 instead of 4? I know when I choose the Sansa Clip from the list of devices it automatically reverts to format 4, but I notice it is a much larger file. I was wondering if the Clip could play the format 3 just as well, and if so, how can I get it to download to the Clip in a lower format?

Yes, you can select / change  the desired format just before download (a drop down choice), or you can set the desired rate in your preferences while in “My Library Online”.  I’ve found that Format 3 is the best combination of audio quality versus file size.

With Format 3, you will have plenty of memory space left for your Clip.  It also seems the most trouble free during decoding.
