Are we supposed to use Acronics for backup? It's stuck

Just bought a 5TB Passpoprt.
It took me about 30 min just to figure that WD Backup is no longer supported. WD didn’t bother to show any notification about this.

So I downloaded Acronis for WD, and trying to create my first full backup.

It’s been 5 minutes only saying “calculating the data size…” and “calculating time remaining”.

No progress bar so ZERO clue if it’s stuck or not.

Is this typical? This is a really POOR customer onboarding.

So after some more minutes, it finally started.
Is Acronis a good backup method?
What may I do to keep the full backup and avoid getting it deleted automatically by the program?

PS I just noticed it create a TIBX file. So this means I can’t use Windows Search to find Files on the Hard drive, I suppose, as there’s no straightforward way to view the raw files? That’s kind of a pitfall. Any insight on this?
