All my music sounds in a tunnel

I just got a sansa sandisk clip I think it is called and I am trying to use windows media player to put songs onto my player but when I play them back it sounds like they are in a tunnel is there anyone who has an idea on how I can fix this so I can use my MP3

Most likely, the headphone plug isn’t inserted fully; give it a wee push and see if it helps.

I am having the same issue recently on my 4GB clip.  Have tried everything, firmware update, resetting, reinstalling music, checking ear plug.  Equalizer has gone out.  Music plays but sounds a mess.

I had a similar issue with any software MP3 player on my PC.  Turns out it was a software issue with the sound card.  A newer driver fixed it.  What you’re describing may be either hardware or software related.

I’d suggest you try some known good headphones with the Clip, with some known good MP3 files you’ve listened to on your PC with the same headphones.  If the same MP3 files sound okay on your PC with the same phones but lousy with the Clip, then something is wrong with your Clip.  If you’ve updated to the lastest firmware and you’ve reset the unit but the sound is still lousy, then call Sandisk for warranty replacement.   The sound quality with a Clip with known good headphones and properly encoded MP3 files should be pleasant and not at all like you describe.

How does the FM radio sound? Normal, or the same?
