Album Sort Order

Hey, guys. I am a proud new Fuze owner, and I gotta say I really do like it. Thanks to the great advice on this forum (which I browsed while waiting for my Fuze to be delivered), I haven’t encountered a single problem.

I do have one question, though. Is there any way to change how the Fuze sorts my albums, specifically albums that begin with ‘‘The’’?

I use iTunes to play my music on my computer. iTunes automatically sorts albums (and songs) that begin with ‘‘The’’ by the second word in the title. For example, ‘‘The Greatest Hits Collection’’ is sorted as ‘‘Greatest Hits Collection’’.

Before moving music to my Fuze, I use Mp3tag to convert the tags to ID3v2.3 ISO 8859-1. With Mp3tag, I can see that the album sorting information is stored in the tags (under ALBUMSORTORDER) of the songs on my Fuze. Yet all my albums that begin with ‘‘The’’ are being sorted by ‘‘The’’.

Is there anything I can do about this? Your help will be most appreciated, as I would rather not have to rename my albums (‘‘Greatest Hits Collection, The’’).

Thanks.

P.S. If this info has been posted elsewhere, I apologize. I searched, but I couldn’t find this specific question.

This is a feature incorporated into Winamp (for one) media player and is a darn good one. I have suggested it in the Product Feature Suggestions board here. Hopefully we’ll see it added in a future firmware update.

And a big thanks goes out to Neutron_bob for finding a “fly in the ointment.”

We can always count on you, Bob! :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks for the info, Tapeworm. Hopefully this feature will be added soon.
