After unlocking, no harddisk drive is shown!

I’m using Western Digital My Passport Ultra 1TB USB3.0.

After unlocking successfully, there is no additional drive showing in My Computer, which normally it should be there to allow me to browse the files. But it works fine in my MacBook Pro. How come?

Guys, please help…

@Canvas_Yu do you know how the drive is formatted? If it shows up on your Mac, it’s possible it was formatted to a Mac-specific filesystem (HFS+) which is readable by OSX but not by Windows by default.

You can check for the drive in Disk Management (on Win8.1 or 10, right-click the Start button and choose Disk Management) to see if the physical drive is visible on your system. Even if the files don’t show up, you should see if the drive can be seen by Windows, in the lower half of the screen. If it’s there, your computer can see it, but probably doesn’t understand what to do with it. There are a few options to proceed from there, but it depends on what you want to do. You might need to format it to NTFS for Windows to see it, but that will erase everything on it.

If it doesn’t show up, try a different USB port on your computer.

The file system is not a concern since I have used it in both Windows and Mac with no problem. I did not change the disk format afterwards.

I have tried different USB ports on my computer.

Update

I have checked the Disk Management and found that the disk is offline.
After changing it into online, the drive comes up now.
Thanks!!!
