After First song e260 shuts down

So when I turn on my e260, I select a song, it plays to whithin about five seconds of the end of the song and then it shuts off.  If I select the first song and then skip to the next one it will play two or three songs and then shut down. 

Any ideas?

I would suspect it’s something with the files themselves. What are they & where did you get them? If they’re rips from your own CD’s, you can try ripping them again. Occasionally, I’ll get a bad rip for no apparent reason.

I doubt that is the problem, unless

a. every track on my MP3 player is bad

b. bad tracks can play almost the entire song and then shut off the player

I have had bad tracks before, usually they just say bad track when you try to play them.
