I’ve heard that the only thing you can do with files within a backup folder in Smartware is to Restore them. Can you view, play, copy, etc files within the backup or do you have to do a manual backup to get that functionality ?

When you run a backup using WD Smartware the software creates a folder called WD Smartware.swstor that folder contains the backup and files you can access it and copy / paste the files on any computer.-
the only thing I would add, is that you do not want to move or delete any files in that folder. to do so will break the backup and smartware will stop working.
