8TB drive not backing up and making computer crash

I bought an 8 TB MY BOOK as a back-up drive for my Alienware Aurora desktop PC running Windows 7. The drive performed my initial backup only once and since then it fails to initiate additional back ups. Furthermore, I can no longer open “WD Backup” software. Lastly for some reason if the drive is plugged in to my PC during start-up it looks like the PC is trying to boot from the drive which fails everytime.

Please help.

Check the settings on the Bios of the PC to change the boot sequence.

Have you tried reinstalling the WD Backup software? If not, make sure to download the latest version from the WD Support site.
